ME

Sriba Kwadjovie was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a young dancer, she trained in african diasporic dance, jazz, and katherine dunham technique at her mother’s dance school, the Beatriz Ross Cultural Dance Ensemble and classical ballet training with ms. peggy peabody at Ballet Petit. While earning a B.A. in political science at UC Irvine, she had the opportunity to study modern dance under esteemed choreographer and distinguished professor of dance, Donald McKayle.

Sriba has worked with notable dance companies such as Robert Moses’ Kin, Company Chaddick, Leyya Tawil’s Dance ELIXIR, Epiphany Dance Theater and Kiandanda Dance Theater. In 2015 Sriba was selected to choreograph and perform a solo project for the 2015 Havana Biennial opening of the “Mirage” exhibition in Cuba. she produced her first dance film feature, “The Sower” in for the 2021 “once removed” exhibition at the southern exposure gallery, san francisco.

based in oakland, California, sriba has been a member of susana pedroso’s, arenas dance company since 2021, studying afro-cuban folkloric and cuban popular dance. she is also passionate about legal matters involving intellectual property and has earned her j.d. from john f. kennedy university. when she’s not in a dance studio, sriba enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
